If they say “Girls have it easy today”

You could say:

“I get why it can look that way in some areas, but women and girls still face real barriers - from pay gaps to safety on the street. It’s a mixed picture. For example, globally, adolescent girls and young women aged 15–24 are still twice as likely to not be in education, employment or training. And 650 million girls and women alive today have experienced sexual violence in childhood.”

Ask a curious question, it can help unpack their assumption: “What makes you feel that girls have it easier today?”
